A Hamilton man was arrested following an investigation into online child exploitation, Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Theresa L. Hilton announced Tuesday. Don-Diego Parkman, 19, of Hamilton, faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, manufacturing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), possession of CSAM, and endangering the welfare of a child. The prosecutor’s office filed a motion to detain Parkman pending trial. The investigation began when detectives from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit and the New Jersey State Police ICAC Task Force received information from Missouri law enforcement. The report indicated a minor in Missouri exchanged child sexual abuse material with Parkman. Investigators found Parkman exchanged messages and photos with a preteen girl and directed her to create and send sexual content. Authorities executed a search warrant at Parkman’s residence in Hamilton and seized evidence. Parkman was arrested without incident. The investigation revealed Parkman worked as a costumed character and mascot for companies including Six Flags Great Adventure, Somerset Baseball Partners, Devils Arena Entertainment, and Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pa. over the past year. The charges carry potential sentences ranging from three to 20 years in state prison and fines up to $200,000. Acting Prosecutor Hilton urged anyone with information about suspected improper contact by unknown persons communicating with children via the internet or possible exploitation or sexual abuse of children to please contact the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit at (609) 989-6568 or the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force tip line at (888) 648-6007.
