I’m done. After decades of buying season’s passes to Park City resorts, I’m not this year and may never again. I’ve skied here since the early 1970s, so believe me when I say that the soul and joy of skiing is dead. Corporate owners and their never, never, never ending thirst for misguided development; traffic stretching out to the interstate running the gantlet to fight for a parking space on a Tuesday; the mass influx of people ruining what they originally moved here to find; petulant billionaires fighting over what hillside to trash for their next mansion. Park City was once a pretty cool place 30-some years ago, but it has now become an absolute circus and I need to stay away. It’s just too depressing.
