FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Frontline union caregivers at two nursing homes, Country Gardens in Swansea and Carvalho Grove in Fall River, are set to hold informational pickets. On behalf of approximately 120 nursing home workers between both facilities, negotiations have been unsuccessful with their employer, Alpha Healthcare, for the last three months. Those workers are demanding improved wages and benefits as the current low wages and short staffing issues have forced existing workers to work double shifts to earn enough to pay their bills.
