CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A man who operates his own track and field training company and has a travel track team in Charlotte has been accused of rape and indecent liberties with young athletes, one who was just 11 years old at the time, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. Daszmar Lammon Lockhart, 37, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 17, and charged with the following: statutory rape of a child 15 years of age or younger, four counts of indecent liberties with a child, and two counts of statutory sex offense with a child 15 years of age or younger. CMPD said in early September, a girl reported to police she had been sexually assaulted on multiple occasions by a former track coach and identified Lockhart as the suspect. Her case was assigned to CMPD's Crimes Against Children Task Force. During the investigation, two more victims came forward and reported that they too "were sexually assaulted by the suspect as juveniles." The victims, all girls, were 11, 14, and 15 years old at the time of the reported assaults, CMPD said. Lockhart owns and operates his own track and field training company, “Lock Nation Athletics” and has a travel track team. Two of the victims in this case are from Charlotte, and one is from Fayetteville, but there may be more across the state, CMPD announced. Police believe there may be more victims associated with Lockhart, and noted in a press conference Tuesday afternoon that it could extend beyond the 2018-2020 time frame the other victims are alleged to have been assaulted. Queen City News did obtain a report on a rape that occurred several years ago at a home in northwest Charlotte that was a former address for Lockhart.  The report was filed the same day that was associated with the first report in Lockhart's warrants.
