Nearly 274 pounds of cocaine found after traffic stop in northwest Indiana

PORTER COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A truck driver from Canada faces multiple felony charges after police arrested him following a traffic stop Monday morning in northwest Indiana.

The stop took place at around 9:30 a.m. after a motor carrier violation was spotted at the eastbound truck scales on I-94 according to a news release from Indiana State Police. A K-9 detected the possible presence of narcotics. When troopers searched the trailer of the rig, they found 123.9 kilos or nearly 274 pounds of a white powder packaged in plastic bags.
The white powder tested positive for cocaine.
Naseeb Christy, 49, faces charges of dealing cocaine and possessing cocaine.
