FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fort Wayne police arrested a man early Wednesday morning in connection with the shooting death of a Chicago man at an apartment complex back in August. Dwayne Sims, 63 was found and taken into custody on a murder warrant in the same area where 29-year-old Jamion Martin was killed on August 22. Around 11:15 p.m. that day, an off-duty Fort Wayne Firefighter was working inside a building at the Arbors of Southtown apartment complex when they heard shots fired and notified dispatch, according to an officer on scene. When officers arrived, they found an open door and Martin with multiple gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Sims is being held at the Allen County lockup and police were assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service.
