Baton Rouge Police Department to speak about Youth Advisory Council

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - The Baton Rouge Police Department is holding a news conference at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
The news conference will be about the BRPD Youth Advisory Council and it will be held in the Baton Rouge Police Conference Room.
The new council will include high school students from the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, according to BRPD Deputy Chief Sharon Douglas.
Douglas said the council could help reduce crime.
The news conference is happening days after a teenager was reportedly shot in the 2500 block of 72nd Avenue.
