BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPOUD) — The quarterback carousel continues to spin on the Bluff as Southern University football quarterback Noah Bodden is back under center for the Jaguars. He is replacing Czavian Teasett, who is currently nursing an ankle injury he suffered in the second quarter against Jackson State on Saturday. Bodden came in and gave Southern's offense a spark, but it was too late as the Tigers pounced to a 23-0 lead to end the first half. The Jaguars made the game respectable with Bodden at quarterback. He led two drives that ended with six points while throwing for 352 yards, which was a career-high for him. Southern still couldn't keep up with the Tigers' offense, falling to Jackson State, 33-15. Southern University vs Prairie View A&M: Game time Southern football head coach Terrence Graves said he was impressed with Bodden's performance, especially after getting benched in weeks one and two. "For any player, any quarterback to come into a rivalry game behind after you've been replaced. It says that he was prepared mentally, so that speaks to his maturity and his leadership." said Graves. Bodden will get another shot to earn his starting job back for good this Saturday against Prairie View A&M. Graves also said that Teasett's X-rays came back negative. He is taking it day-by-day and there is no timetable for his return.
