Storms move out of New Mexico tonight with a cold front sweeping across the state. Drier weather returns through Thursday. Strong and severe storms have been moving across parts of New Mexico Tuesday afternoon. These storms will continue to move through the northern and eastern parts of the state through late this evening before moving out of the state tonight. Some strong to severe storms will be possible as they form along a cold front. Behind the front, drier air is returning, along with a breezy southwest wind. Winds will die down after sunset tonight as cooler overnight low settle in. Parts of west-central, far northern New Mexico, and southern Colorado will see lows drop into the 30s tonight with clear skies. Despite the chilly morning Wednesday, warmer weather is on the way Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. On Friday, moisture gets drawn back up into eastern New Mexico as another low pressure system approaches from the west. This will bring in breezy winds across the state, along with thunderstorm chances along and east of the central mountain chain. A cold front sweeps across the state Saturday, bringing a higher chance for rain to northern New Mexico and southern Colorado, along with eastern parts of the state. Drier weather again returns Sunday, but the front will leave temperatures cooler this weekend, especially in the morning hours. A warming trend begins early next week bringing highs back to near and above normal by next Tuesday.
