Rest assured someone will utter Beetlejuice’s name three times at Magic Mountain this weekend and unleash the mischievous poltergeist on the Valencia amusement park in the form of a drone-powered nighttime spectacular. The Beetlejuice drone show has already played Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Six Flags Great America in New Jersey. Previous shows have included drone animations of slithering sandworms, spinning Ferris wheels, blinking neon signs and other imagery related to the films, parks and corporate sponsors. The new “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” film now playing in theaters returns to the Deetz family home in Winter River where a new rebellious teenage daughter discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and accidentally opens a portal to the afterlife. The sequel to the 1988 original stars Michael Keaton (“Birdman”), Winona Ryder (“Stranger Things”), Catherine O’Hara (“Schitt’s Creek”), Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday”) and Willem Dafoe (“Spider-Man: No Way Home”).
