Two Wisconsin teenagers injured after 'serious' crash in northern Illinois

LAKE COUNTY, Ill. (WFRV) - The Lake County, Illinois Sheriff's Office confirmed the investigation of a 'serious' traffic crash that was reported around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday.
The crash, which occurred in Wadsworth, was a single-vehicle incident near Route 41 and Kelly Road. Deputies arrived on the scene, finding a Dodge Ram 1500 that had heavy damages.

A preliminary investigation found that a Dodge, being driven by a 19-year-old Kenosha man was heading northbound on 41. The driver acknowledged that he had failed to perform a curve in the roadway while looking at the GPS.
The vehicle struck a light pole, went into a ditch before going airborne and hitting two trees, and landed on its side. The driver and passenger, also a 19-year-old man from Kenosha were extracted from the car and taken to a hospital nearby.

The passenger remains in critical condition after sustaining life-threatening injuries. The driver had minor injuries.
