BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — A couple who was arrested for the death of a child at a home in Bismarck will not go to trial. Jasmine Charging and Jordan Many Ribs agreed to an amended plea in Burleigh County court this week. They were arrested in January when police were called to a mobile home park off south Washington Street in Bismarck. Dickinson man in custody after threatening neighbor with handgun According to officers on the scene, police found a two-year-old unconscious inside the home. The couple told investigators they had been doing drugs, and it appeared the child had come in contact with material that had fentanyl residue on it. Charging pleaded guilty to one count of endangerment of a child resulting in death.Two felony charges were dismissed, including child neglect and child endangerment. Many Ribs also pleaded guilty to two felony counts, but was released on a $100,000 bond.A judge ordered him to stay in North Dakota, and not have any contact with children. The prosecutor in the case asked the judge for both Charging and Many Ribs to remain in custody until the sentencing. That request was denied. Both Charging and Many Ribs posted bond.
