BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- After Hurricane Francine hit Louisiana, residents in Ascension Parish are still dealing with the aftermath of the storm.
This week, the Ascension Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness has taken on several projects to assess storm damages after Hurricane Francine.
Waterways in Ascension and Livingston parishes are now back open for recreational and boat traffic after closing due to high waters.
BRProud spoke with Ascension Parish OHSEP director, Rachael Wilkinson, on Tuesday. Wilkinson said officials will continue assessing storm damage and clearing roadway debris. She also said most of the parish's power has been restored.
"The next phase is clean and recovery, right? Moving forward, a lot of calls that we're getting with the call center is going to be debris, debris pick up, how to separate debris and when should I expect a time frame of debris pick up from my house," said Wilkinson.

Wilkinson said residents will see clean-up crews no later than Wednesday. In the meantime, OHSEP asks residents to monitor their website and social media accounts to stay informed.
