BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Bakersfield Police Department evaluated a total of 20 drivers for DUI in a checkpoint and saturation patrol on Sept. 13. The checkpoint was held in the 1800 block of Oak Street from 6 p.m. on Sept. 13 to 1 a.m., according to police. At the DUI checkpoint, a total of 1,123 vehicles were screened. Bakersfield police seeks help in identifying suspect in TJ Maxx theft During the checkpoint, one driver was detained for sobriety influence level, seven drivers were cited for driving without a license and three were cited for driving with a suspended license. Police say eight vehicles were impounded and two of them were released to license drivers. Never miss a story: Make KGET.com your homepage During the saturation patrol, 34 traffic stops were conducted. A total of 19 drivers were evaluated for DUI and 11 were issued citations. Four vehicles were impounded for license violations.
