A young child was struck by a car and critically injured on Staten Island Tuesday afternoon, police said. Shortly after school let out around 3:10 p.m., a 10-year-old boy was riding a bicycle when he was hit by a car on the island’s North Shore at the intersection of Nicholas St. and Richmond Terrace, according to police. Medics rushed the boy to Richmond University Medical Center, where he is in critical condition, cops said.
