KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Several students and a small child were taken to the hospital following a school bus crash involving an SUV on Monday in Corbin. According to investigators, the brakes on the SUV failed, causing it to collide with the school bus and sending both vehicles over an embankment. The crash occurred at the intersection of State Road 1232 and Indian Oaks Drive, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department. Officials say there were 35 students on the bus at the time, along with a three-year-old child in a car seat in the SUV. Two students, a bus monitor, and the child were taken to the hospital with injuries. All are expected to recover. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
