FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Parkview Health is asking for feedback on health needs in the region to help shape how the healthcare organization can best serve the community. Local residents are encouraged to submit feedback online for the Community Health Needs Assessment, which is conducted every three years. Parkview said data from the survey is used to learn what health needs should be prioritized for the community and how the healthcare system can use its resources to work toward that. Responses are anonymous and feature multiple choice questions such as what the respondent thinks are the most important health concerns in the community, and how easy or difficult their experience has been getting access to health care. Anyone ages 18 and older living in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties can participate, along with residents in Williams County, Ohio. The survey takes about 5-10 minutes to complete. This survey allows us to gain insights into local health outcomes and uncover barriers that individuals face, such as access to nutritious food, transportation, childcare and housing. Understanding the unique needs of each community we serve is essential, and gathering input from those who live in and provide services throughout the region helps ensure that everyone feels heard and represented." Sarah GiaQuinta, senior vice president of community health and equity at Parkview Health While the survey is available online, it's also being mailed to random households in Parkview's service area, according to the release, and Parkview teams will also be sent out to collect responses in person.
