DC police identify man killed in shooting near Dupont Circle

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Police in D.C. have released the name of the man who was killed in a shooting near Dupont Circle early Monday morning.
In an update, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) identified the victim as 35-year-old Ifeanyi Maximus, of Bladensburg, MD.
Police said shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 16, officers were called to the 1700 block of Rhode Island Avenue for a shooting.

There, they found Maximus suffering from a gunshot wound and unconscious.
He died at the scene.

This case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made, as of Tuesday.
