Alameda encampment engulfed in flames as fire spreads to vegetation

ALAMEDA, Calif. (KRON) -- An encampment was engulfed in flames Monday evening in Alameda, the Alameda Fire Department said. Firefighters responded to the 3000 block of Main Street around 5:13 p.m.
There were no reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters. The fire, however, did spread to nearby vegetation, officials said. AFD crews were eventually able to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The 3000 block of Main Street in Alameda is near Estuary Park on Mosley Avenue.
