PERINTON, N.Y. (WROC) — Midvale Commons, a senior apartment complex in Perinton, has received $750,000 from New York State to build an additional 38 units of supportive housing for "formerly homeless individuals over the age of 55."
The senior units, 76 in total, are currently under construction and are expected to be finished before the winter of this year.
According to the state, the new supportive housing development would be through PathStone, and Rochester Regional Health would provide the on-site support.
The facility, over 75,000 sq. ft., is all-electric and carbon-neutral, according to Christa Construction, the builders of the project. The site is supported by solar and heat pumps.
