Mandan man charged with sex crimes pleads not guilty

MANDAN, ND (KXNET) — Kyle Kennedy pleaded not guilty to three felony charges of Gross Sexual Imposition and one felony charge of Corruption or Solicitation of Minors in Morton County District Court on Monday, September 16.
Investigators say Kennedy had inappropriate contact with two young boys between 1998 and 2017 in Morton County.

Last month, Kennedy was arrested by the Morton County Sheriff's Department in Council Bluffs, Iowa, after prosecutors sought to have him brought back to Mandan to stand trial on the charges. Kennedy previously served time in a Minnesota prison before he was returned to North Dakota.
If found guilty of the two felony counts of Gross Sexual Imposition, Kennedy could face life in prison. He also pleaded not guilty to one misdemeanor charge of Indecent Exposure.
Kennedy's trial is set to begin in Mandan on December 3rd.
