A kitchen fire the morning of Sept. 15 has temporarily closed La Jolla’s Marisi restaurant. San Diego fire Battalion Chief Erik Windsor said authorities don’t yet know what caused the fire, but he said it could have been caused by electrical or restaurant equipment. The fire spread inside the walls of the building at 1044 Wall St., prompting firefighters to cut into the walls to stop the spread. That inadvertently ruptured a water pipe, resulting in the water supply being shut off for Marisi and nearby businesses. Queenstown Village, which shares the building with Marisi, was temporarily closed. Windsor said there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
