DERWOOD, Md. (DC News Now) -- Montgomery County fire crews were at the Transfer Station in Derwood on Monday after a large scrap pile caught fire. In a post at 12:20 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Spokesperson Pete Piringer said that crews were at 16101 Frederick Road for a fire. The flames did not reach the building. Piringer said that no injuries were reported. A large scrap pile caught fire at a transformer station on Frederick Road on Sept. 16.
