ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — $750,000 has been announced to fund a Perinton housing project for individuals who were formerly homeless. PathStone Corporation is working to build 38 units of housing as part of the Midvale Commons project on Baird Road. This involves building a two-story building with a community space, on-site support, and more resources. The project aims to help people over 55 who are homeless or at risk and provide them with dignity and support services. These services will be provided by Rochester Regional Health. Groundbreaking for $27 million affordable housing project in Rochester PathStone is a non-profit organization serving New York State, as well as New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Virginia, and Vermont. The organization aims to help disenfranchised people and communities with workforce development, housing, and community development. Another mission from PathStone is to provide these homes with safe and sustainable energy. Midvale Commons will be provided with air source heat pumps, energy recovery ventilators, and EV charging stations. The Perinton project is one of five projects across the state to help with permanent supportive housing. Governor Hochul announced $36 million will go towards these projects.
