We are blessed to live, work, and play in such an incredible town. As Parkites, we have watched our small town evolve rapidly over the past five years. Over the next decade, this growth will continue at a rapid pace that our current infrastructure may not be able to handle.Balancing sustainable growth while preserving our small-town charm is a challenge. Our decision-making should blend the needs of citizens with data-driven insights. This is why I strongly believe that Park City residents and businesses should advocate for a strong emphasis on upgrading our digital infrastructure.I have spent the past several years volunteering with the Decentralized Identity Foundation, working to build new privacy-by-design data standards for the travel industry. Our efforts have contributed to numerous initiatives worldwide, including data privacy regulations in Europe, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and here in Utah.Globally, we have seen measures implemented to verify sustainability efforts, open affordable housing opportunities, and address traffic congestion issues.Here in Park City, there is no question that our growth has outpaced our existing infrastructure. We are fortunate to have forward-thinking community leaders who understand how technology can improve our lives. Because of this, incredible startups have blossomed in our small town. One of my personal favorites is the Park City app, a new tool to help address transportation challenges around town.As we prepare for the 2034 Olympics, I believe it is critical to incorporate a long-term digital strategy that will endure for the next 30 years.
