Construction of a new dormitory continues near Dillard University campus with over $3.5 million permitting issued for mechanical work. The dormitory complex will house 127 bedrooms with amenities including lounges, office and study areas, cooking facilities, dining facilities, and community multi-purpose study areas. The loan for construction was consummated in 2022 and took approximately six months. The U.S. Department of Education’s Historically Black College and University Capital Financing Program provided the University with a $41 million loan to complete the project, according to a staff report published by Dillard University.
