BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Louisiana officials reacted on social media after former President Donald Trump was the target of a second assassination attempt. The FBI is investigating after the attempt was made at Trump's golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to the Associated Press. The suspect, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. The Hill reported that Trump thanked law enforcement in a Truth Social post on Sunday night. Louisiana leaders posted statements on social media after the assassination attempt.
