BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Louisiana State Police are investigating after a Sunday afternoon crash left a Denham Springs man dead.
According to LSP, Michael McManus, 58, was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 447 at Parkway Drive in Livingston Parish. Troopers responded after 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15.
Investigators said a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by McManus was traveling northbound on the highway before hitting the back of a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban after failing to stop in time as the car was about to make a left turn.
Officials said McManus was ejected from the motorcycle, landed in the southbound lane and was struck by a 2017 Honda Accord.
McManus was not wearing a DOT-approved helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.
The drivers of both cars were wearing seatbelts and were uninjured. Troopers said both drivers voluntarily submitted to a chemical breath test.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
