Kapolei fire 65% contained, drone team deployed for fire watch

KAPOLEI, Hawaii (KHON2) -- Honolulu Fire Department crews have begun fire watch for a wildland fire in Kapolei.

Reports of the fire came in just before 12:30 p.m. on Sunday on Coral Sea Road and Ranger Road as flames sent thick smoke into the sky.
No evacuations have been issued at this time and no injuries have been reported.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control before 6 p.m. and deployed drones for fire watch at 9 p.m.
In the Incident Commander's last report of the night, the fire has been 65% contained.
