ST. MARY PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- Kebreyana Jones said she's experienced many hurricanes throughout her life, but none as scary as Hurricane Francine. Jones, who is eight months pregnant with her first child, recounts the evening she and her parents fought off floodwaters. Hurricane Francine made landfall as a Category 2 storm on Aug. 11, bringing strong winds and a lot of water. That water eventually made it into their home. "It was hard because I'm eight months pregnant," Jones said and that she lives with her elderly parents. "My father is older, [and] my mother, she can't lift too much. So it was basically me and my father cleaning it up. I just had to put on my belly band, it was like a back brace, and just started moving furniture around. We were cleaning up all night," said Jones. Outside, a tree snapped and fell, damaging her father's truck. The work that night took a toll on Jones' body. She said she was in pain the next day, both emotionally and physically. "I was in pain the following day, as speaking in terms of that and then having to look at the damage to the yard and then we did suffer some water damage as well. But as far as my body, it was hard for me to move around, I stayed in bed the following day," Jones said. That Thursday, the day after the storm, was also her birthday. Jones said she is grateful no one in her family was hurt during the storm. She said it is amazing to know that she will be giving birth around the time of a hurricane, just like her mother. Entergy plans to have all power restored this week after Francine hits Louisiana "It was kind of like history repeating itself because, like I said, I was born a few weeks right after Hurricane Andrew. Looking in the grand scheme of things, I'm grateful that my family was safe and that we did make it through," she said. Jones is expecting to give birth to her baby boy on Nov. 18.
