The victim of an attempted armed robbery in the upscale Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel-Air has been identified as a popular fitness influencer. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred at 4:20 p.m. Saturday in the 11400 block of Thurston Circle.  “Four men approached the victim and demanded property,” LAPD Officer Terzes confirmed to KTLA.  “One of the suspects produced a handgun and fired at the victim, striking him multiple times.”  The exact property that the suspects demanded was not immediately known, Officer Terzes noted.  Inland Empire man shoots and kills sister, police say After the shooting, the four suspects fled the scene in a vehicle; LAPD was unable to provide descriptions of the four or their getaway car, but they did confirm the shooting was not gang related.  A social media post indicates the victim is Miguel Angel Aguilar, the President of Self Made Training Facility, a chain of fitness centers that serves athletes and personal trainers while also providing the latter group with mentorship and resources to maximize their incomes in the industry.  In the post, Self Made Training Facility stated that Miguel was involved in “a serious incident” on Saturday.  “He sustained a gunshot injury and is currently fighting bravely in the intensive care unit,” the post read in part.  The exterior of Self Made Training Facility's Hollywood location pictured on Sept. 15, 2024. In addition to having 26 locations across the country -- including 20 in California -- Self Made Training Facility also sells apparel, supplements, equipment and their own bottled water.  Most of the Golden State locations are here in SoCal; among the 20, only two -- Elk Grove and Folsom -- are not. Multiple Self Made Training Facility locations can be found in other states, including Arizona (Gilbert, Phoenix and Scottsdale); Florida (Orange County and Orlando) and Texas (Dallas and Fort Worth).
