HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Soulful Sunday returned to Henrico this weekend as community members joined together to celebrate the culture of Africans and African Americans. Soulful Sunday took place at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15. Hosted by Henrico Recreation and Parks, this family-friendly event helped people come together to celebrate the culture of Africans and African Americans with art, music and more. 8News spoke to Aziah Bell -- Special Events Coordinator for Henrico Recreation and Parks -- about what this event is about, what it means to her and what it provides the community. "It means a lot to me. It's an opportunity to connect with a lot of the local vendors we have here in Henrico County," Bell said. "It's important for the community, because it's an opportunity for the community to get back to their roots, which is something that is so important in the community no matter who you are."
