Dan McKee "Violence in any form has absolutely no place in our country. I am relieved that former President Trump is safe and I am grateful for the quick action of law enforcement." U.S. Sen. Jack Reed "Political violence has no place in America, and an AK-47 has no place near a golf course or near a presidential candidate. I’m relieved to hear former President Trump is safe and was several holes away from the potential gunman.  "I commend security personnel, including the Secret Service, for quickly spotting and neutralizing the perpetrator and taking proper precautions to rush the former President to safety. "I urge law enforcement to be forthcoming with the facts so the American people have as much information as possible. The alleged perpetrator must be held accountable and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law." U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse "There is no place for political violence in America. I am glad to hear law enforcement’s swift response prevented violence."
