Lon Horwedel-Imagn Images Per Dan Campbell, it appears Amon-Ra St. Brown avoided a long-term injury at the end of the Detroit Lions game. To add injury to insult, Detroit Lions All-Pro receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown went down with a lower-body injury late in the team’s 20-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That said, coach Dan Campbell seemed to indicate he won’t miss much (if any) time going forward. “He’s alright,” Campbell said. “I don’t think it’s anything long-term, so that’s good news.” St. Brown went down a couple times during the game with injuries. Toward the end of the third quarter, he took a pass down to the Buccaneers’ 1-yard line but was slow to get up before jogging off the field under his own power. He returned to the game, but on the final offensive drive, he left again after getting tackled low by Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David. He got up limping, and tried to stay in the game, but ultimately couldn’t. Trainers worked on his legs on the sidelines for the rest of the game, and he did not re-enter for the final five offensive plays of the game. After a down game in Week 1, St. Brown was a huge factor in the Lions offense. He ended up catching 11 passes for 119 yards on the day. Campbell also explained an odd sequence of events for rookie cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. being a surprisingly inactive for this game. It turns out there was a good reason for that. He suffered an injury during warmups. “It was just a little hamstring, I don’t know,” Campbell said. “That happened literally four minutes before we had to turn in the inactives, so we were up against the clock.”
