CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) - Court documents reveal Cleveland County Detention Officer Luis Alejandro Cardona faces two counts of sexual battery and one count of assault and battery. The detainee also stated that the detention officer groped her and made comments about her breast size. Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office announces layoffs, cites budget constraints Documents also read that Cardona intentionally groped a detainee's buttocks in a lewd manner. The paperwork added that the Detention Officer knocked a detainee to the ground with force and violence. On September 4th, authorities say they interviewed Cardona at the Cleveland County Detention Center. Police say Cardona admitted to multiple policy violations and was "caught in multiple lies." News 4 tried contacting the Cleveland Co. Sheriff's office for comment Friday afternoon but could not reach anyone. The office is closed on weekends. The Cleveland Co. Sheriff's office also announced Friday that they would be laying off an unspecified number of employees due to budget constraints. The announcement sparked questions from members of the community. The layoff announcement comes after the Cleveland Co. Commissioners voted unanimously to bail out the Sheriff's office in June, due to $3.2M in overspending.
