Last weekend, we got an early glimpse of fall with high temperatures near 70° both days. It was not meant to last, unfortunately. This weekend, we're seeing high temperatures in the upper 80s. When you combine the heat with the lack of rainfall around here, drought conditions will continue to worsen across the region. With no substantial rain being in the forecast over the next few days, more areas could experience severe levels of drought. Drought expands and intensifies across NE Indiana and NW Ohio Look for clear skies to be in place as we progress into the overnight hours. Temperatures will dip down into the mid-50s. Clear skies will be in the place early Monday morning, with temperatures in the mid-50s. For Monday, We'll enjoy a sunny day, with high temperatures climbing into the mid-to-upper 80s. A great day for outdoor activities! Enjoy a sunny Monday!High temperatures will reach the mid-to-upper 80s. Our high temperatures look to remain in the 80s all week long, with our Muggy Meter readings staying in the comfortable territory. So, while we are seeing higher levels of heat compared to our average temperatures, the good news is we are not experiencing the higher levels of humidity we saw earlier in the summer. Humidity levels remain low this week despite the summertime warmth. Our lowest high temperatures for the week though will happen in the middle of the week; we'll drop down to as low as around 80° on Wednesday. This is because we are tracking an increase in clouds and lower temperatures associated with the remnants of a potential tropical system. We're watching for a system to track into the southeast coast of the country and then track inland. If we are lucky, we could see a few rain showers along the northwestern periphery of the remnants of this system. Our best opportunity for this to happen will be on Wednesday. However, confidence is low and any rain we do pick up will be very light and not have any impact on our ongoing drought. We wish we had better news here, but we'll take any raindrops we can get! Our next best opportunity for more beneficial rain looks to hold off until next week. We'll cross our fingers this chance persists.
