Pennington (1-1; LW-1) >> Red Hawks started a new streak after 36-match unbeaten run came to a close in the opener. Interesting game on Monday against only NJ public school on the schedule in 4-0 Cherokee. 2. Allentown (2-0; LW-2) >> Been hard to get a read on the Redbirds with just two games played, but they found a way to overcome a compact Princeton in OT. Matches against Notre Dame and Robbinsville will tell us more. 3. Peddie (2-1-1; LW-4) >> Falcons went 0-1-1 at Hill Jamboree, but got back on winning track with 3-0 win over George. Sadie Lawrence is one of the top goalkeepers in the area. 4. Notre Dame (1-2-1; LW 5) >> Irish should have won at Hopewell, but settled for a draw after an unlucky late own goal. Big week on tap with a trip to Peddie and then Allentown visits Mike Perone Field. 5. Lawrence High (4-0; LW-NR) >> What a start for Emily Palombo’s Cardinals. They rallied after a season-ending injury to forward Amber Wooding with wins over Hightstown, Steinert (in the final minute!) and Ewing. 6. Robbinsville (4-1; LW-NR) >> You could say the same for Caitlyn Curran’s Ravens after they picked up a win over last year’s Colonial co-champ Princeton Day this week. R’ville has a youthful-but-talented, group of attackers. 7. Hopewell Valley (2-2-1; LW-5) >> Bulldogs showed resolve in scratching out that draw with ND, but need to show they can generate chances from open play against Colonial Division foes.
