Man in life threatening condition after morning shooting near Downtown Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A man is in life-threatening condition following a shooting near Downtown Fort Wayne Saturday.
Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) officers at the scene told a WANE 15 crew member a walk-in gunshot victim was brought in by witnesses to a downtown hospital.
FWPD responded around 5:15 a.m. and the male adult was stabilized and transported to a trauma center. He is currently in life-threatening condition, according to a FWPD release.
Witnesses are giving their accounts of the incident, there is limited information at this time, according to a release. Homicide Detectives are working to collect all available information regarding this shooting, FWPD said.
