BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Fire Station 83 in Inyokern received a brand-new, 500-horsepower fire engine Wednesday afternoon. On Sept. 11, the Kern County Fire Department presented station 83 with a new engine which featured a 1,500 gallon-per-minute water pump. The Pierce Enforcer engine model will serve the Inyokern community for plenty of years ahead, according to officials. District 1 Supervisor Phillip Peters was eager to deliver the new engine to firefighters at the station on Wednesday. Fire officials note that the Station 83 crew is meticulous when it comes to fire engines and equipment, and are considered excellent caretakers of the engine for years down the road.
