Man arrested in Rhode Island after allegedly hitting construction worker in Connecticut

STONINGTON, Conn. (WLNE) — Connecticut State Police said that a Danbury man was arrested in Rhode Island after allegedly hitting a construction worker in Stonington.
46-year-old Julio Leodan Macancela was arrested by Rhode Island State Police and charged with driving under the influence.
State police said troopers responded to the area 0f Exit 91-92 in Stonington around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 for reports of a construction worker struck in a work zone.
The suspect allegedly was driving in the left lane, which had been shut down for construction.
The worker suffered minor injuries, and police found the driver near the Rhode Island state line.
Connecticut State Police have issued an arrest warrant for Macancela and are still investigating the incident.
