MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie drug dealer will serve decades behind bars after being found guilty of causing an 18-year-old woman's death by supplying her with fentanyl. Teagon Thatcher, 24, was found guilty during a three day bench trial in August after being charged previously with dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death, a Level 1 felony. Thatcher faced up to 40 years in prison. Judge John Feick ended up handing down a 35 year sentence. Teagon Thatcher (Delaware Co. Jail) Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Ramirez said this sentence marks the 13th drug dealer in the county convicted of dealing resulting in death. "We will continue to prosecute drug dealers who prey on the vulnerable in our society by poisoning them," Ramirez said. Thatcher was arrested earlier this year after 18-year-old Neva Petty was found dead in Bluffton from a fentanyl overdose. Investigators ultimately uncovered that Petty had traveled to Muncie to purchase drugs from Thatcher.
