COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Three people are dead including an infant after a triple shooting that is once again believed to stem from a domestic situation in East Columbus late Tuesday night. At approximately 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Columbus police responded to reports of shots fired. The person who called police said they believed a man shot his girlfriend in the home and were notified an infant could be inside. Officers arrived to a home in the 2900 block of East 12th Avenue on the far east side of the city. After unsuccessful attempts to reach anyone in the home, police forced entry and found three people dead from gunshot wounds. Group comes together at Ohio Statehouse to recognize World Suicide Prevention Day One man, one woman and one infant were all pronounced dead at the scene and homicide detectives are treating it as a murder suicide. An investigation has led police to believe that the man shot both the woman and the infant before killing himself. Police have not identified the victims or the shooter, but believe the adults were the infant’s parents. It is the second suspected murder suicide in the past 24 hours and fourth over the past three weeks. Late Monday night two people died in a suspected domestic situation in northeast Columbus. The others occurred on The most recent domestic homicides occurred on Aug. 20, Aug. 22 and Aug. 25. And another death occurred on Aug. 30 in Licking County when police shot a man who was threatening to kill his wife. CPD Sergeant Joe Albert asks that anyone involved in a domestic dispute to try and settle matters without violence. “We beg and plead people, don't resort to firearms to settle your disputes if you're in a potential domestic violence relationship, reach out and get help.
