(Kyle Franko/ Trentonian Photo)Expand ROBBINSVILLE — For 74 minutes, the Robbinsville and Lenape girls soccer teams looked like they were headed for a scoreless stalemate. Then the game flipped in the last five minutes when the visiting Indians scored a pair of late goals to hand the Ravens a 2-0 loss on Saturday morning at the Steven J. Mayer Athletic Complex. Emily Ramirez broke the deadlock for with 5:06 remaining when she headed in a corner kick and Samantha Eiswerth put the finishing touches on the victory for Lenape (1-2) after Lexi Buciorelli took a free kick to play her in with 19 seconds left. Neither team created much in terms of chances before Ramirez’s breakthrough. In fact, the Indians didn’t register a shot on goal until the second half and the Ravens (1-1) had just four total. Robbinsville’s best chance to score came early in the first half when Gianna Johnson sent a shot just wide after Brooklyn Rogala whipped in a dangerous cross. The Ravens have a younger group of forwards this fall, a unit that took a hit when last season’s leading scorer Emily Morgan suffered a season-ending injury playing for her club team over the summer. “A lot of the game was from 18 to 18 and there weren’t a lot of opportunities either way,” Robbinsville coach Cailtyn Curran said. “That’s something we are going to continue to work on and gaining those offensive chances. If we have a really strong, stable core that will come in time.” What the Ravens do have are a pair of experienced defenders in Caileigh Guzik, who looks poised for a First Team All-CVC season, and Katie Andrus. “Having those two, and then adding Kinsley Franke, who is a freshman and has seamlessly fallen into that spot with them, they are all starting to thing with one brain,” Curran said. “It’s really exciting to watch.” *** Hopewell Valley 3, Middle Twp. 1 MIDDLE TWP. — Meg Kurian and Elizabeth Eckel staked the Bulldogs (1-1) to a first-half lead before Delainey Ross added a third as John McGinley’s side picked up win number one. Elizabeth Buchert had two assists and Ross picked up one. Immaculate Heart 1, Notre Dame 0 WASHINGTON TWP. — Sophia Bertino scored in overtime and IHA (1-0) dealt the Irish (0-2) a second loss in as many days to start the season. PDS 1, Hun 1 PRINCETON — Mackenzie Brodel got the goal for the Panthers (0-1-1) off a feed from Julianna Hartman, but the game against the Raiders (0-0-1) ended in a draw. Phillipsburg 1, Ewing 0 PHILLIPSBURG — Paige Zechman converted a pass from Suweba Jawula and the Stateliners (1-1) knocked off the Blue Devils (0-1). Perkiomen 2, Peddie 1 POTTSTOWN, Pa. — Tessa Hughes scored for the Falcons (1-1), but they fell to Perkiomen School in their first game at the Hill School Jamboree.
