SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) -- Seasonable temperatures held steady today in eastern and portions of central KELOLAND, but warmer weather has begun to make its move out west. This will be the precursor to what comes along sooner rather than later. Until we get to that point, we have another calm and comfortable night on the way...especially East River. It won't be as chilly as last night, but widespread lows in the 50s are still pretty good for this time of year. We may have an isolated shower or two toward the Black Hills this evening and into the night, but that'll be an exception to the overall quiet rule. Fans of this autumn preview that we've had since Friday will have to pack some patience for a while, as change is on the way beginning on Sunday. We get back into the 80s East River on Sunday with some 90s popping up at times out west. All the while, we stay dry with a ridge of high pressure still very much in control. Much of next week can be described with one of two words: Dry or Warm. Either will work here, as high pressure continues to hold serve over much of the central US. The one exception may be a chance to see a few midweek showers toward the Black Hills, but that's just about it. A "better" chance for showers and a few thunderstorms comes along as a piece of energy attempts to push eastward by Friday. If you're East River, you stay dry on Friday but you also stay warm/hot. Chances for rain remain sequestered to West River locations, and even then those chances are scattered. We may bring a shower or two to the east on Saturday, but chances right now are rather low to see much if anything by that point. Here's a look at your extended forecast:
