ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Ah, nothing like smell of rain to wake you up on this lovely Saturday. The good news though is that the bulk of the rain will continue to move its way out of our area throughout the morning hours. As the afternoon hours begin, you can expect drier conditions, but cannot rule out the chance of an isolated rain shower. Temperatures will be much cooler today than the previous days, only reaching the upper 60s for most. Skies will clear out during the overnight hours, allowing for our temperatures to drop back into the upper 40s for lows. Sunday, winds are generally westerly with cool air still in place across the region. Above our heads, it will be cold enough in comparison to the lakes to help spark a few lake effect and lake enhanced rains showers throughout the day. This will not be a washout in Rochester, or Orchard Park for the Bills home opener against the Cardinals. We will once again be fairly cool though with highs in the mid-60s again so be sure to dress for the weather not the season. Relatively cool & breezy, Sunday's #Bills forecast hasn't changed much. Lake Erie could spit out a few light showers with winds gusting to 30 mph at times. Between those showers, there should be some sunshine. #BillsMafia pic.twitter.com/2hY3HZpTIp— Eric Snitil (@EricSnitilWx) September 4, 2024 To kick off our workweek, rain chances will still remain in the picture, at least for Monday. Scattered showers will most likely affect the Rochester region for much of the day on Monday. The good news though, it will not being raining all day, but rain have pockets of rain that will be timed out throughout the day. Temperatures will be marginally warmer, reaching the lows 70s for highs. The rain looks like it will clear out during the evening hours and temperatures will fall into the low 50s. From Tuesday on, it looks like Rochester will enter a dry stretch, as well as a warming trend. Tuesday and Wednesday will feature less clouds than the days prior. Temperatures for both days will range between the upper 70s and low 80s. 8-Day Forecast High pressure continues its dominance throughout the rest of the week and into the first part of the weekend. Temperatures for both Thursday and Friday will be in the low to mid 80s. Skies remain clear heading into Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures remaining in the low 80s.
