ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The National Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation hosted its September 11 Memorial Stair Climb and Family Walk to remember the many people that lost their lives as a result of the attacks on September 11.
Firefighters, first responders, local businesses, and community groups from all over Monroe County joined to pay tribute to a FDNY firefighter by climbing or walking the equivalent of 110 stories of the World Trade Center.
Each participant received an ID badge of a firefighter, EMT, or police officer.
Support of the stair climb event provides assistance to surviving families and co-workers of the 343 firefighters who made that sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
