(KRON) – A Daly City resident accused of stealing more than $2,000 worth of merchandise was arrested, according to Colma Police Department.  Authorities said at 2:57 p.m. on Aug. 25, Colma police officers noticed 56-year-old Daly City resident, Tony Venegas, in the Metro Center shopping center. According to Colma PD, officers are familiar with Venegas due to his frequent shoplifting. Police said Venegas had a no-bail felony warrant. California Highway Patrol investigates vehicle fire, fatality Police said Venegas fled through the parking lot and in between cars to evade police. However, he was caught and detained.  Colma PD said Venegas shoplifted from a particular store in Metro Center seven times from July 30 to Aug. 25. Authorities determined he stole approximately $2,071.56 worth of merchandise.  Drug paraphernalia was found on the suspect in the arrest, according to police.  Venegas was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for suspicion of burglary, obstructing/resisting a peace officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and his felony warrant.
