SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield will be honoring Bishop Talbert Swan with a dedication ceremony on Saturday.

According to the City of Springfield, there will be a dedication ceremony in honor of the unveiling of "Bishop Talbert Swan Way."
Swan, the longest-serving NAACP president in the history of the Springfield Branch, is also the Director of the Social Justice Ministry for the Church Of God In Christ, the largest Pentecostal denomination in America. Swan is a long-time social justice and civil rights activist and has been recognized across the nation for his advocacy.
“I am honored to be recognized in the city of my birth and on the street that has been the headquarters of my family’s activism for over four decades,” said Swan, the pastor of the Spring of Hope Church of God in Christ.
The street naming ceremony will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Spring of Hope Church on Alden Street near the traffic circle.
