SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Legendary Putnam football coach Ted Plumb was recognized Friday in Springfield at Duggan Academy.
A ribbon ceremony took place at 6:00 p.m. unveiling Ted Plumb Stadium. Commerce and Putnam will be sharing the field in the years to come.
"It means a lot he put in 35 years of his career coaching the kids of Springfield and were very proud of him and were very appreciative of this field", says Jimmy Plumb, Ted Plumb's son.
Student-athletes are looking forward to the new opportunities on the field. Coach Plumb's friends and family along with local, state, and federal officials were all in attendance to honor and celebrate his legacy.
