Alleged Zaxby's carjacking shooter arrested in Bolivar

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A suspect accused of shooting a Zaxby's manager during a carjacking attempt outside a Cordova restaurant was arrested in Bolivar, Tennessee.
Phedoris Thompson, Jr., 22, was found by Shelby County detectives, along with Hardeman County and Bolivar authorities, after executing a search warrant on Pleasant Creek Lane.

According to deputies, the restaurant worker was closing up Zaxby's at 1180 N. Houston Levee at Macon around 11 p.m. July 7, and had started his Dodge Challenger in the parking lot by remote when he was shot in an attempted carjacking.
The victim drove to a bar across the street, where first responders used belts to apply two tourniquets to his legs.
Thompson was charged with Criminal Attempt 1st degree Murder, Attempted Carjacking, Aggravated Assault - Acting in Concert, and Employing a Firearm with the Intent to Commit a Felony. He is also facing pending felony and weapon charges with the Bolivar Police Department.
